I am nervous about the weather for a Canadaian cruise..>Will I see sun?? What are the most important things for me to pack?? Cant wait..SATURDAY..NOVA SCOTIA...Triumph!!!
Don't bring any heavy coats, but rather thinner items that can be layered so you can adjust as needed. You could be in a t-shirt and shorts one day, and need pants and a windbreaker two hours later. It is what it is - an area of widely changing weather conditions, similar to Alaska or the UK.
Hi Dori,
Glad you are visiting my little part of the world! Welcome! We have had an unusually rainy summer here in Atlantic Canada as has also been the case for the eastern seaboard of the U.S. I think you will also be visiting Saint John N.B.?We were in Saint John last Saturday travelling from a trip to the U.S. and the Triumph was docked there. It was 25C, a beautiful sunny day, I looked at the long range forecast for Saint John and Halifax and it looks good for your visits. I think the weather is finally starting to cooperate. That can change but I hope it doesn't. I would not compare our weather to Alaska or the UK, more like what you would see from New York and Boston to northern Maine. Have a great trip and if you have other questions, just let me know.
You might consider packing some sun tan lotion and disposable rain ponchos. These items pack easily, weigh next to nothing and are easy to carry with you!!
According to weather.com, you can expect sunny skies and daytime high temperature of 80F in Halifax next Tuesday, when Carnival Triumph makes her port call there. The day prior, in Saint John, will be about the same, only with partly cloudy skies.
You have all been so insightful!!! I am super excited and at this point, I dont care if it rains or not...I just want some rest and relaxation...oh and a VERY large glass of WINE!!! I will give feedback. I take a virtual tour of the TRIUMPH daily and it looks AWESOME...Bon Voyage
