Please let me know what you thought..we are going in June, It is our first time....my husband thinks he needs to bring his tux, I say no, what do you think?
If he wants to bring his tux, I'd say let him . . . do you know how hard it is to get a man to dress formally? He doesn't need it - my husband has gotten into nice slacks, sports coat and tie for formal nights.
Sadly, as each year goes by, cruise lines are moving away more and more from the old time tradition of formal wear. You will see more men in suits or smart casual wear than tuxedos.
My husband wore a tuxedo for two of our last cruises - but then, our best friends owned a tuxedo rental business. It's easy when it's free. Now, he just doesn't want to be bothered with what it takes to deal with rental and bringing... especially now that checked bags are being charged for . . . At least with the sport coat, he can wear it on the plane.
I've never seen mine in a tuxedo, if he would be willing to wear it, I know he'd be so handsome. How lucky can you be, a husband willing to wear a tux-WOW!

They are less common now than they were several years ago. Nothing wrong with wearing a tux though, especially on your first cruise. There will be many photo ops, and it would be a great way to remember it by. Most people wear regular suits now a days or sports coats and dress slacks though. If I had to pick a Carnival ship to wear a tux on, it would be the Carnival Pride, she is one classy ship.
