DESTINY May 17th shore Excursions

Hi fellow cruisers~!

I am looking for info on land excursions in the following three places without booking them onboard.
I am looking for public places that rent snorkel gear near snorkeling area's.

Grand Turk
Half Moon Cay
Nassau, Bahamas
I have seen them on other islands and have heard there are public snorkeling beaches in NASSAU..just looking to verify.

Google shoretrips.com. We have many members who recommend them. You have no choice at Half Moon Cay. It is the cruise line's private island and everything has to be bought from Carnival. It is really just like being on the ship.

If you just want to hang on the beach, there's a free beach next to the Atlantis in Nassau called Cabbage Beach. I don't remember seeing snorkel gear rental, I had my own. However, there was no good snorkeling there. Grand Turk there's a beach right where you dock with chairs and a shopping area. The snorkel trip we took was through the ship and we had 2 very nice stops. One was for great coral the other was great fish, including a huge barracuda.

As Dave stated, Half Moon Cay is a private island. Hope this helps.

After you mentioned about Half Moon Cay, I did remember that it's a private island. But are you telling me to get off there you have to book something..can we just get off and look around ourselfs? Is there shops onshore or just a beach?
