If I were in the cruise line management business, I'd strive to have an understanding among all the lines in which we'd share jumpers' names and uniformly ban them for life. Really, this is a liability issue not unlike a reckless driver not being able to get insurance from anybody.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of those who fall or jump overboard never have the chance to be banned from future voyages.

Was the reason the Disney got him and not the Sensation was because the current in the area carried him so far away??
Sorry Baby Doll, I missed this. According to the reports the Disney Wonder was following behind the Carnival Sensation. Here is a link to a news report video. Listen carefully and you'll hear he is being evaluated for mental health issues.

If guests keep "falling" or "jumping" off ships the next thing they'll probably do is fence in the balconies and other areas to prevent this from happening.

Well there are a few things you have to consider in this case, let be objective in the situation:

1. If you "fell" or "jump" from a balcony on a cruise ship you are either a drunk or a moron, probably both.

2. Why the cruise line don't charge this people? I feel sorry for all the people that pay good money to go on a cruise, sometimes they have to wait years in order to do so, and then they lose one of their port of call because of this.

3. The guy jump, so be my guest, you want it you got it, I cannot feel sorry for him
SORRY I am a bad person but he ASK FOR IT!!!

4. My only problem is that one day, because of this people, they will have to change our balconies a put a fence on them just becuase someone does not know how to drink.

So I hope I never have to deal with a situation like this, because is not carnival foult I think they should ban them for life from any cruise line...

You're so right Cas, it's always a few that spoil it for the many. If they do live, I believe they should be banned, too. You are spot on, some people on board have saved and waited and planned for years, then some twit spoils it. Dave, it is just like a wreckless driver, "No Tickey, No Washy", stay home.
