New to this chat thing. Would like to get feedback on the Victory? I have been on this itinerary (southern carribean) twice in previous years but different ships. Anyone been on this ship and this itinerary in the past few months?

One thing I loved about the Victory was the ice machines in the hallways (like a hotel)

I have not experience that on any other ship (but then I have not sailed with Triumph or the Destiny yet)

Which ships have you done your past southern Caribbean cruises on?

In March 2007 it was on the Destiny. Also back in 1997 (hard to remember that far back) it was Fascination. They both were out of San Juan, I have always liked the southern although I have enjoyed all of the Carnival cruises I have been on. Few problems with people in rooms next door to you that don't have a clue on manners and respect for others but have not let that get in the way of being on vacation!

Since you've sailed on the Destiny, you would find the Victory to be quite familiar. The Victory is essentially a newer and improved Destiny, which also holds more passengers.

We did the Victory in May of this year. Great itinerary, but very port intensive. We also did this itinerary on the Destiny in 2007 and the Fascination in June of 1997 and 2000, back then there was 1 sea day. The Victory is just like the Destiny...just a little newer ship.

Sounds like you like this particular itinerary as I have. As I said, I did this back in March 2007 and liked it as well as years ago. I have read postings suggesting that it is over run with Puerto Ricans and rude behavior by them. I don't remember them being any ruder than anyone else but maybe it has changed since I went. Did you have any issues with this?
Also did you do any excursions and if so would you care to share which ones and how you liked them?

I did the zipline in Barbados that was one of the best I have done anywhere and probably one of the safest. Also did the parasailing in St. Thomas and
loved that as well.

Would love to hear from anyone that has done this ship and this itinerary with recommendations on excursions.

Yes, we do like this itinerary. This last time is the first time we have flown in the day before. We stayed at the Sheraton in old San Juan.

We didn't have any issues on this cruise with Puerto Ricans or anybody for that matter. When we went on the Destiny it was pretty bad. People cutting in line at the buffet and being loud in the hallways.

St Thomas ~ went on tour thru Carnival over to St Johns Trunk Bay.

Dominica ~ this time we just got off the ship and walked around by pier.

Barbados ~ got a taxi and went to Accra/Rockley beach. Very pretty, but the day we were there it was really choppy.

St Lucia ~ did tour with COSOL. Highly recommend this.

Antigua ~ took a taxi to the Jolly Beach Resort and got a day pass.

St Kitts ~ took the train tour thru Carnival.

Wait until you find out about the "Gremlins" on the dinning room...



There are a few horror stories that are not real, I can say:

"I now Puertoricans can be difficult sometimes"

but this mostly depends on what you are looking most of the time,
if you are looking for something to be bad you will find it.
My guess you will have no trouble with puertoricans as the situation is at the moment in Puerto Rico no many people will be crusing next year...
