My husband and 2 kids (ages 12 and 15) will be going on the Inspiration on August 6th. I was wondering how the soda cards work and is it worth it? How much are they versus how much is a drink? Do they include water bottles or just fountain soda/tea?
We have found that you need to drink about 4 glasses of soda a day (per person) to break even with buying the card. They are NOT valid for bottled water, only fountain glasses of soda. Iced tea is provided free as well as lemon aide and water. The ships water is every bit as good if not better than bottled water. Most people think the bottled water is more pure/clean... but they way they "make" water on the ship is the same as they do it in bottled water plants...
You will find that most of us on Cruise Chat feel the same way about buying the soda cards. If you are happy with drinking ice tea or lemon aide (or water) for meals, then don't bother with the soda card. You can buy a couple of sodas a day and still come out ahead versus the card. If you are planning on drinking any alcoholic bevies than the number of sodas you will drink in a day goes down further...

Hi KrisW22, Welcome to Cruise-Chat!
Here is a link to Carnival's FAQ for the Fountain Fun Card.
It is going to come down to the amount of soda your kids normally consume to determine if it is worth it.
For a 4 night cruise such as the Carnival Inspiration on August 6th. the cost for the card is approx. $18.50 for 17 years old and younger (including) the 15% gratuity.
The per drink prices are approx. $1.50 per glass, and $1.95 per can ( not including) the 15% gratuity.
As Jim C. noted bottled water is not included. Tea other than bottled Tea is already included in the cruise fare. You can bring "limited" quantities of non-alcoholic beverages on board with you.
To me, the fountain sodas on the ships do not have a good taste. I do not care for them. But, the again, I usually drink something a tad harder! Razz
papa, they are actually not fountain sodas despite the name of the card. They use cans of soda. They don't have my soda of choice, so I bring my own when I can. I don't drink enough of them for it to be worth it. Some folks do though.
