Hi everyone have never cruised before and have just booked the last week of January on the Victory, read a review last night that said this boat rocks a lot. Can anyone tell me if this is true?

Hi Grannieannie, Welcome to Cruise-Chat. I've been on the Victory three times and never noticed any excessive rocking. Everyone is different though in their sensitivity to motion. The ship does have stabilizers. Different weather patterns during different times of the year can cause any cruise to be rockier than the previous cruise. As for it being the ship itself though, I don't think so.

Thanks for the input, this being my first cruise I don't know what to expect and this person made it sound like it was rocking and rolling the whole time.

The Victory doesn't rock any more than any other ship. All ships can have a patch of rough seas sometimes.

I can understand why they say it "rocks" on the reviews



Carnival victory is almost the same size of the carnival destiny and I have travel 3 times already on it on the same route.
Here is the deal st.Thomas and Dominica are no trouble but the main trouble comes after Dominica during your travel to Barbados as soon you enter the Atlantic it gets to a no good for confort situation. My advice take a little dramamine just after you get out of Dominica, but remember a little, they had them free on guest relations or better yet bring them with you just in case.

The caribbean is a nice calm place during "navidades" winter it's at 75 degrees in most of the island you will enjoy it and welcome to the Cruise life...

Hi grannieannie, welcome to Cruise-Chat. I love the gentle rocking/rolling, it makes great sleeping weather. All ships have stabilizers now, and they're so huge you rarely feel movement. Like Cruise Fanatic states, all people's sensitivity is different, but I really don't feel the motion unless the seas are extremely rough, which isn't common. The captains try their best to stay away from bad weather, which can cause rough seas. Of course, there are other reasons, but usually the Caribbean is pretty calm. Sometimes the Atlantic can kick a bit, but not often. There are all sorts of remedies, the natural ones are ginger (you can get candy and tablets at health food stores) and green apples. There is Bonine which is over the counter. Or your doctor can give you the patches. Oh, there are the wrist bands, too. Best wishes!

Thanks Penny I guess my big concern is the fact that I have had problems with my inner ear, would be good to have all bases covered.
