Wow! I would think they could make it if they hauled butt, but don't know for sure. Is the ship docked yet? If you can please post and let us know when they start boarding.

Yes gschon, I just heard the official news too.

Sorry to hear this. After I saw the ship's position I didn't think it would happen, though I was being optimistic. This has been one nasty fog.

Look here.

so, the deal is $20 credit pp + ($15 for 1 day food)<--i dont know what that means
and,25% refund
plus 20% off next cruise(3-5 day by end of 2011)

The other option is to take a credit good for another cruise and sit at home for the next 4 days..
So, I'm going with the 1st option

I'm guessing I might get a couple of free drinks before its all over( if I'm nice)

Those poor people at Carnival service, sounded like they were taking a "beating" today.

That is pretty basically what I was told directly from them as well. I'm guessing they had alot of calls this evening. They didn't mention the $15 food part. I'm assuming it is in addition to the one day refund for the port fees.

I wonder how fast the ship cruises...about half speed 12-15 knots???
I just hope they don't just go out ten miles and just drift around the oil rigs.

They'll have to wait for clearance from the harbor master before coming in tonight. I was told they'd be in by 7AM in the morning. For the cruise to nowhere they'll probably go out further than 10 miles. They are going to want to open the casino. I'm not sure of the exact distance in that area.

Don't they have to make one stop in a foreign port? Unless they do, they can't sell anything duty free... at least that is what I thought was the case.

I'm so sorry to hear about the cruise change up. But it sounds as if you plan on making the most of it which is really all you can do. Good for you!

Somehow, a CTN with the helpful incentives, sounds really a lot better than sitting at home for 4 days. I am so sorry you won't make Cozumel, but there is the chocolate melting cake!
