I have been to Cozumel 5 times , and I'm sure I'll be back.
And, I'll probably only gain 2 lbs on this vacation, even with the melting chocolate cake... well we are leaving now, I can see the Ecstasy on the Galveston web-cam...
It would seem there would still be customs for the items bought in the duty free gift shop on the ship. I always have to remember to declare the cartons of cigarettes I buy in the gift shop. That is one of the first things they ask. "Do you have any cigarettes"? I have to admit, I fudge a little because I usually take some with me to begin with. I forgot to declare a Swarovski Crystal once that I had bought in the gift shop and remembered it going down the gangway. I didn't know whether to fess up or what. It was well within the allowance so I didn't say anything.
Getting back to fog in Galveston. This is a good example of how the unexpected can happen with cruising. Ship happens! Yet, it is the best vacation value and bang for the buck for me. I hope gschon is having a great cruise after the ordeal of not knowing what was going to happen with the sailing.
we had plenty of fun....I think I had maybe just one too many drinks in the Casino Friday night. When I went back on Saturday, they remembered my name and what I wanted.
We did not have to stop at customs today.
Funny thing happened, we had another fog delay this morning. We got in at 11:30 instead of 7:30. They did not kick us out of the cabins, so I got an extra hour of sleep, and a big breakfast.
Welcome back You must have been playing blackjack. I can sit at a video poker machine for hours and can't even get a glass of water So glad to hear you got a little extra time on board, the last day is always so hard. First off, I never want to leave, then you have to get up so dang early, and they want you out. I totally understand, it's hard to turn these huge ships around, but I never want to leave.
Thanks everyone.
We did have to fill out the cards, and the Cruise Director said that customs would be boarding the ship when were at the pier.
I'm guessing , but I think they were required to notify customs that we were there , and that Customs made the call that it was not necessary.
...I was playing blackjack, and taking a beating.
If you do the math, I think my drinks were about $30 each.
Oh well, I'll do better next time.
Our little girl(18months) loved the new water works. She got to go on the little slide, with some help from Mom and Dad.
She also enjoyed running around up on the astroturf golf course
