Alternate Transportation

We have been viewing the shore excursions for St Thomas & St. Martinque and have noticed references made to alternate travel back to the ship if you chose not to go with the tour operator. Has anyone ever gone this route and if so what is the price and how do you arrange it?

It basically means you can take a taxi or public transportation back. Do you mean St. Maarten? I noticed your ticker said the Glory.

Which excursions are you looking at?

Depending on where you're going in St. Maarten, they have a water taxi and plenty of land taxis. I'm sure they have a bus, but we've only used taxis there. They weren't too expensive, and you can make sure before you get in that you think it's reasonable. I think they charged us $20 to go to Orient beach from the dock.

We were in both ports this winter. we had the choice of being dropped off at the shopping area or taking the tour back to the ship. Both islands cost us $5 per person to take a taxi back. It was a flat rate and taxis were plentiful. They were more of an open sided mini bus then a taxi. Hope this helps.
