I don't get it? People mention this all the time. But, it has been my experience that the only time you can hear people in the next cabin is when the ship is in park and the engine is off. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif
When the ship is moving, I can hear creaking, ship noises and the sound of the AC blowing. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

My experience almost mirrors yours. I forget which ships these were, but we could hear some loud noises from the next cabin -- mainly sneezing, slamming of doors -- but nothing terribly bothersome. We tend to hear a lot more noise from the main corridor than from wall to wall.

I mentioned this in another thread recently. It is mainly because I've heard of it being an issue for some people. It has never bothered me at all. I mostly hear noises from the hallway. Maybe I've been lucky to have quiet neighbors on a cruise, as opposed to what I deal with where I live. Heck, I'm the one coming in at late hours and dropping buckets of quarters. That was an accident though, I try to be very considerate about noise. What is it with door slamming at late hours? http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...n_rolleyes.gif

We have had issues on only 2 ships, the holiday and the fantasy. We had to call the pursur on the holiday, they had 5 people in a category 4a haveing a party at midnite.it was wild.the ship security took care of it. and on the fantasy the neighbors where load on there physical activity if you know what i meam:}. But the new ships are better

We are booked in an ajoining room, with friends, so not too worried about the noise on that side of the room, and if they are loud I wont mind asking them.. shhhh

Honestly, I am more worried about the noise INSIDE my cabin! LOL Where will I go when he starts to snore? Can't go to the sofa ha ha ha

Earplugs & sleeping aids Here I come!!

I have never had a problem with noise...only people that let their doors slam behind them when the leave. That drives me crazy. How hard is it to pull the door closed behind you!

I've never figured that one out either. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...n_rolleyes.gif

Surely anyone with enough common sense to find their way on the ship should know better. I guess it comes down to common courtesy for one's fellow cruisers. This type of rude behavior on the ships always puzzles me.

We've never had a problem with noise either. I've got the same problem as Ash72, though. I can hear my hubby even with ear plugs. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...n_rolleyes.gif He can even snore on his stomach-amazing. I end up waking him up every 5 minutes and taking naps during the day. http://bestsmileys.com/yawning/2.gif

We had that problem on the last cruise. Seem like the cabin next to us was coming or going all the time.
Our doors at home are self closers. they have a shock absorber build in so they do not "slam" they just pull themselves closed. I wish they would use that type on the ship.

We have been blessed for the most part with good neighbors...and I really think that is the key.

Yes, the door slamming is just a sign of an uneducated upbringing.....
