I personally feel it would be a bad thing in the long term. Carnival Corporation would have to much control over to many cruise lines. I believe Carnival has done a good job with the cruise lines it owns but no one corporation should have that much control over any industry IMHO.

Wed July 24th European Commission
in Brussels cleared the Carnival
hostile take over bid for P&O Princess
with a price of 5.5 Billion dolllars.
Deal still must be approved by US
Trade Commission in September and than
voted by stockholders. The plot thickens.
