I agree, the Carnival Glory had an exceptional crew both times I sailed on her. It made the cruises wonderful experiences. I say had because I don't know if there has been much crew change since she was repositioned to Miami from Port Canaveral.
I agree, the crew makes a lot of difference. They can make or break a cruise, or any other type of vacation.
Another thing that makes a difference, and has nothing to do with the crew or the ship... the weather. Sometimes people put the blame on the ship or cruise, when they just had rotten weather.
I have enjoyed my cruise on the Spirit the most but I have a soft spot in my heart for the Ecstasy since it was my first, and honeymoon, cruise. My parents, however, say they had the most fun on the Jubilee. It is smaller and more intimate, while keeping the "Fun Ship" feeling.
I do hope the smaller ships are not completely phased out so I can try cruising on one in the future. I did cruise on the RCCL, Viking Serenade, which was very enjoyable.

WE have been on Triumph and Liberty. Both great experiences. Choose the itinerary that suits you best. Of course, now that they have redone the older ships and put in the big waterslides and the tables with the umbrellas, we may just check one of those smaller ones out in the future.
We have cruised on the Liberty, the Glory, the Freedom, and the Miracle. Loved them all I still prefer the larger ships, the seaside theatre makes a difference. The miracle decor was nice, didn't really care for the Lido deck. The extras deep balcony was great.
But my fellow cruisers you are right, the crew makes the world of difference and hands down "Wee Jimmy" our cruise director from the Glory was the best!
