My family is going to be in two different staterooms. The way the travel agent booked us, we are not placed in the rooms the way we want to. (i.e. my wife and I are in different rooms)

Is there a way to change the room access on the keys once we get on the ship? Has anyone ever done that?

A suggestion might for you to contact a PVP at Carnival ASAP and tell them of your problem. If it can be changed it will be done as you talk on the phone. I do know that Carnival has a policy that states 1 adult per room, so having said that it will be up to the discretion of the PVP

It has to be done at the Purser/Info desk onboard the ship. It shouldn't be any problem, people do it all the time. The agent most likely did this to save you money, or there are children involved.

on my cruise last sep my wife was in my sister in laws room and her boyfriend was in mine,when we got on the cruise ship we went to the pursurs desk and she fixed it. so dont worry

Not only would you hate it but it will be extra trouble to get on or off with someone elses room key. My last cruise I was returning and the young girl ahead of me had her mothers card. Oh Boy http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_frown.gif Everybody in line was looking for mom because she wasn't going anywhere, and the guard kept the card in his hand. She needed to go to the restroom but NO the guard was letting her go nowhere until we found mom and the cards were corrected. So no swapping room keys. http://bestsmileys.com/nono/6.gif
Purser will do it, on day 1 you may have a line to wait but do it.
