Just a general question, would you be willing to swap ships and change itineraries if Carnival was to send a ship to Haiti for the residents to use for food, and Medical needs?

The passengers wouldn't be given a choice in that scenario. Whatever ship got pulled would be up to Carnival and the passengers would have to deal with it.

We need to look at the logistics and realities. A cruise ship doesn't have medical facilities to function as an emergency vessel. Then there is the limited room and the crew to consider. The cruise ship thing didn't work after Katrina - it was a failure really - plus the Holiday was abused to the point of needing a shipyard period to rehabilitate the cabins and public rooms.

Adam Goldstein of RCI was asked about using a ship in this fashion on Fox Business Network this afternoon. He said given the damage to the port in Port-Au-Prince and other issues, it simply wouldn't be effective.

There would need to be an entire floatilla and then some. There are so many in need that it just wouldn't work. I hope they can continue to serve as delivery vessels for as long as possible. They need everything to rebuild, care for the injured, and properly lay to rest those that have perished.

I feel sorry for Haiti Too

But there are a few problems with this, the situation in Haiti is not the best at the moment and, as a compamny decision, it will be wise not risk a multimillion dollar Ship, there is the problem of the destruction of the prision and the criminal running down on the island because many of them escape from it.
As we get the news in Puerto Rico our people there, our rescue workers, need police protection to even get the food and supplies to the people, not to mention there is a lot of people homeless and I don't think a ship even as big as the carnival Dream will do any good there so I guess Carnival won't send any ship for the time being...
