Yes, I too have encountered a person or two at the Platinum line.
I simply point to the Platinum card and the Platinum sign...assuming that most people can make the association. Once or twice they still did not...but that was not my problem.
Of course this is a personal choice...but unless it is am emergency...I try not to use the Platinum line if there is only one person behind the desk.
I try to always make sure there are 2 or more....but again, that is not a requirement...just a personal choice.

I love your posts, LHP, but I have to go against this one. People should not be so uneducated that they do not understand that a frequent client gets the best perks. It all comes down to customer loyalty... I enjoy it on RCCL and Carnival. I get my fair share of dirty looks and whispered comments when I walk up to the Platinum desk but, oh well, I paid for the privilege.
Platinum,,,, oh how I dream of such. I have 8 cruises now another on July 27, 2009(4days)and then Platinum on August 1, 2009(7days). I've never been upset at the Platinum holders before because I figured they've earned it. But July 27, 2009 will be my last chance to complain about them to them (in a friendly way) and then explain to them why I am complaining. Have a safe and fun cruise all! And remember, time flies but GOOD TIMES CRUISE.
Question? 2010 will be my 11th cruise, I will book for about 20 to 30 people as one group. Will those in my party be extended Platinum goodies or will those extras solely be based upon your S/Sign card? Have a safe and fun cruise all!
