Well, it's the cruise line's rules and as long as people play by the rules then there isn't much to say about it. RCI has a similar policy. A person can currently make diamond level at RCI by booking a suite on five 3-night cruises. That gives them two points per cruise and the magic 10 points with 15 nights aboard an RCI ship.
Frankly I made RCI diamond level in less than 10 cruises because of the extra credits for a suite. Most of our Carnival cruises have been less than 7 nights, but then most of them have also been in a category 12 suite. Shouldn't the suite count for something too? Bottom line is I've paid a lot of money to both lines - perhaps more than someone who booked 10 7-night cruises in the cheapest inside cabin.
Princess probably has the "fairest" loyalty program since they look at sea days.
i think you go on 10 you,man 10,seven day cruise are rough,, thats why carnival is the best, they give it to you if you have gone on 2 day all the way to 14 day. but if you go on a two week they should count that a 2 cruises.. i was just messing with ya
Ok I am going to throw in the monkey wrench on this,
Platinum, 10 full week cruises? For 70 days of sailing?
10 three day cruises for 30 days of sailing?
10 five day cruises for 50 days of sailing, do they all earn you Platinum status??
My opinion it should be 70 days of sailing... This should open a can of worms Smile
I wouldn't mind it being based on days sailed. I can see where those taking a lot of 3/4 day cruises from local ports would get there quicker than those of us that take longer cruises and spend more money.
Not a "can of worms" at all. It is a legitimate concern that many Platinum/Concierge Club members share. We don't want our perks to get diminished or cut back down the road as a result of more people being included in the program.

tim c, These incoherent, disruptive, and disrespectful posts are very confusing. Are you sure you are posting on the right forum? We don't "boo!!!" fellow members here. And we certainly don't do it to forum administrators.
My advice is to shape up in short order, or you could be shipped out.
I can see your point Dwayne.maybe 3 and 4 days should only count as a half cruise. But starting at 5 should count as 1.Some people maybe never can go on a 7 day because of the length of the cruise.I dont think Carnival will lessing the perks. I think out of the 13 i have been on i have been on 5 cruises that have gone 3-4 days.3 on Carnival.2 on Royal Carribean. now as far as the 25th,50th,75th cruises, thats going to be hard to get to.I guess thats the platinum plus program. Face it.Carnival is doing there best to get you back onboard there ships and will continue to do so..
