We will be on our 11th on Carnival in oct.First on when we have to tender off the ship.. How does the tendering work for the V.I.P guest.We love being Platinum guests!!!!!

I'm not sure now. Previously they let you use the Platinum S&S card as an express ticket to the front of the tender line. I've heard that now you should go to Concierge Desk to be escorted to the gangway for next tender if not on a shore excursion.

As seems to be the case with Carnival, there is some lack of consistancy from ship to ship on this.

I have read that some people actually go to the Purser's Desk and request that someone walk them to the head of the line.

We have never done this. We have simply used our Platinum card as our pass. This prevented us from having to go to the theater and getting "a number".

We have always just used our Platinum card as a number one ticket (without having to go get one).

On the Imagination, (this was a first for us)..they asked everyone to come to the main theater and all Platinum guests were escorted out of the theater first (even before Carnival excursion people).


But normally we just get in line whenever we decide to leave...we just don't have to go get a ticket to do it.

In Belize hubby and oldest son had a 9:15am excursion which required them to be the first ones off the ship. They simply walked down to the debarkation location early and was on the first tender in. Again, no number needed...they just flashed the Platinum card.

Wasn't there an incident a year or so ago where platinum guests who went to their special line at the pursers desk were verbally attacked by those in the regular line? I think it was "one of those cruises" with a lot of complainers aboard.

I think that people who complain on a cruise should stay at the port! ha

LHP, That is a very good point. I've seen it done differently as well. Last October in Belize I did it like your husband. I guess the best thing to do is ask ahead of time.

Dave, I seem to recall reading something about that. I'm glad it wasn't on one of my cruises. I have received a few dirty looks before when the regular line is long. I just shrug it off, I figure I've earned the privilege or they wouldn't have given it to me.

I would have had to say something back to them, like "I can't talk now, I have to go bag up my dirty clothes for my free laundry service."

During the slot machine tournament they put your receipt/ticket on your machine. This annoying lady beside me asked why mine said complimentary. I was tempted to tell her I was dating the hostess. I'm sure that would have caused problems. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif

you guys are funny!!.. but we all who have sailed 10 times or more have desearved the royal treatment.add all the money we have spent! and if someone asked me like they did on the last cruise when i walked up to the pursers desk,he lefy who he was helping and came to me.. i said i was special and that to become special,sail 10 times and you will get the same. they have to spend as much as i did.. they were not happy lol
