Hi all, I've been on several cruises before, but always in warm summer months. I'm going on the Carnival Miracle in mid-April out of New York, to Bermuda... Has anyone cruised in the non-summer months before, out of the NY area? How are the seas in comparison to warmer time periods? Thanks to all...
We sailed on Miracle out of NYC in May 2007 and Explorer of the Seas out of NJ last February. This year, we're doing NCL Gem out of NYC in March. Even though it was a cool spring when we went on Miracle, it warmed up fast once we left NYC. Last year, it was pretty frigid on the first and last day. Also, the last day on both of those cruises was pretty rocky/stormy. But that doesn't mean it's typical...that's just what happened to us. It hasn't deterred us, though. I hate flying and I like the NYC and NJ ports, so we like to drive there...and since I live in Michigan where the weather sucks, Feb-March is typically when we cruise. BTW, the Miracle is my favorite ship so far. I would highly recommend it.
