Welcome to the addictive world of cruising.
You can eat anywhere on the ship (at any time). The only "assigned" seating is in the formal dining room at night. Your table number will be on your Sail and Sign card. And yes, you do have to sit at that table every night...or you will end up sitting at someone else's spot and getting a surprised look when they show up. Think about it like buying your season tickets at your local sporting event. The seat never changes.
During breakfast and lunch in the formal dining room it is open seating. They will simply escort you to the next open table.
Yes, you can get pizza 24/7 on Carnival. You can actually order pizza WITH your dinner in the formal dining room!! LOL That is the beauty of cruising. You can order 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 4 soups, 2 desserts ...whatever your heart desires!!! And yes, you can even order pizza with your meal.
There will be door hangers in your cabin that you hang outside on your door knob the night before asking for coffee (and whatever else you want from their continental breakfast selection) to be delivered at the time you ask.
Do tip at least $1 when using room service. That is just a small extra courtesy.
You can have coffee in your room and then go to Lido and eat again...and then go get pizza!!
Food is plentiful, generally pretty good (the eggs on Lido are powdered...so go with an omelet if you don't want powdered eggs) and available 24/7.
Have a wonderful cruise.
