First cruise Carnival Victory May 6

krissy..while you're in the ship's gift shop, go ahead and buy a christmas ornament of the ship, and buy one for each ship you travel on. It brings back neat memories each year when you look at the tree. We also get an ornament from each port visited as well. (Only bad thing is if you get divorced and remarried LIKE I DID, you have to start over with the collection ! )

He's a little iffy on this crazy notion of not being able to see land.

About not seeing land, you will be on a small island the entire cruise, (the ship) yes they are that big. I think you loose perception of being out on the open ocean alone due to the size of the ship and activities available.

Apart from sea days, you are mainly sailing at night anyway. So you wake up every morning seeing land!
