Hi again.
Ok, this is a question this time. In the winter, in the Caribbean and Florida and other year-round warm places, do people wear white or is it a faux paux (sp?) like up here in the great white north? http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...n_rolleyes.gif Thanks. Lexy |
I believe the protocals for wearing white dinner jackets and formal ware in North America are from Memorial (Victoria Day in Canada) to Labor/Labour day.
In the tropics, they can be worn year round. |
What happens on the ship....stays on the ship.
White is fine!!! Although this was one of the things that was hard to overcome. After 50+years of white only after Memorial Day and never after Labor Day being drilled into my head. (My Southern Mother took this very seriously) |
Whenever we cruise, I bring out all of my whites. White capris, shorts, sandals, even my handbags. Everything and anything is okay on the ship. You won't believe what some people wear! I also live in the Northeast and we put away our "whites" after Labor Day and they don't come out again until Memorial Day. Do anything you desire!

I live in Tallahassee, Florida, and I don't wear white from Oct- Jan. By Feb our winter is over and spring is already here. I would definitely say no problem wearing white on the cruise.

Thanks all.
I can't wait to get out of this great white north and wear something other than black ! LOL Lexy |
Stacy and Clinton of TLC's "What not to wear" say it's ok to wear white after Labor Day. Anything, respectfully, goes today.
