Shore Excursions

leaving on Legend in 2 weeks , how many of you book your excursions before you leave? what are the pro and cons of booking ahead or waiting till you are on the ship?

Unless it is a specialty shore excursion with limited availability, I don't see much advantage to booking online ahead of time.

I agree with Dwayne. Another instance would be if it were a tour that you had your heart set on doing. For example, I booked a couple of shore excursions today for our cruise in July as we would be disappointed if we were shut out.

Does Carnival charge the tours to your credit card upon booking them, or apply the cost to the shipboard account? HAL charges for them when you make the tour reservation, so my Amex got a bit of a workout today. That would be another con, in my book.

Carnival doesn't charge until you're on board, and do not cancel, at least they didn't the last time we booked.

As far as I know the online booking system requires credit card payment at the time of booking.
