We have two months before our cruise and just found out we've been upgraded from an oceanview to a BALCONY!!!! That's what I'm talking about!!! I saw online where there was a price reduction so I called TA and inquired about getting onboard credit. She called back and gave us our cabin #. Just when I didn't think I could get too much more excited.

That is fantastic! Christmas came early this year. If this is your first time in a balcony cabin, prepare to be forever spoiled--ther's no goin' back now.

Have a great cruise.

Yes, this will be our first time with a balcony and I told my TA that I may not want anything less from now on.

Good for you Simphhcc. But where did you see about a price reduction. I'd like to try that.
We are on the TRIUMPH on Oct. 13. out of Miami.
We do have a balcony room so I guess I really should be happy with what I have. We are on the Lido deck so don't have to travel far to get to places.

I received an email from Carnival about "Special offers for past guests" and the price that was quoted was the same price quoted on Vacations To Go. It was only a $60 difference but $60 is $60. Called TA to see if I could get credit and she phoned me back letting me know I was upgraded. Not sure if I had been upgraded before she called or if they gave me the upgrade in lieu of credit. You will be sailing on my Birthday. Do you have your docs yet?

Congrats on the good news!!

Sadly we will never have that pleasure. We have to pick our cabin when we book.

But I am glad that someone gets that bonus!!!

I'm hoping that this will happen to us! It would be great for our first cruise but like people said we will be ruined for a regular room afterwards.

That's great news, but like f-mattox said, you'll be spoiled from now on and will only want a balcony. Have a wonderful time!

My husband and I just returned from a cruise on Sept.10. We booked cruise for Halloween on the improved Inspiration through the same PVP I used for the previous cruise. We got a double upgrade. Instead of the oceanview cabin I was going to book, we were able to assign a room two decks up for the same price. We got a $140 upgrade. If I had intended to purchase a more expensive OV room on a higher deck, we would have been able to get a balcony. But we didn't spend that much time in our oceanview room the last time, so we'll spend our money on other things (like photos).

There is a special promotion coming up from Carnival for past cruisers:
Thursday, September 20th, BIG savings and FREE stateroom upgrades on cruises sailing between now and December 31, 2008. Contact a Carnival PVP for details.

Simphhcc...Yes we just got documents on Sat.
We are on the west coast so flying into Miami on the 10th. Spending night, then in the am driving down to Key West for an overnighter. Never been there, then back to Miami on Fri afternoon and board ship Sat. Am getting excited now. We have activites before we go so time will go fast. By the time we leave I will need a vacation.
