Thanks everyone for putting up with my last minute questions. We are trying to decide whether or not to bring the camcorder. Thoughts?

Bring it!

Stills are great. But nothing captures the sights AND sounds like a camcorder.

Just be sure it's one you are familiar with. I took a new one once--BIG mistake; I spent more time trying to learn the camera than I did enjoying the trip.

Did the same! And most of all remember the charger! I actually forgot mine once during the packing chaos.

Was on a spring break cruise in 02 and surrounded by younger folks. Had my corder just sitting on the bar, a nice gentleman sat down beside me with one as well. He asked if I had gotten much use of it, I said not really.

He told me to get my friends together, and grabbed my camcorder. He interviewed us about our cruise! It is the most memorable video I have!

Ya never know what nice and smart people you can meet

Desiree, I agree. Camcorder, digital camera, Fiji waterproof camera (we bring 2), and binocs are a must.

I agree with the video camera, not so much with the binocs, though. They are nice to have, but we did not use them too much (at least not enough to make it worth lugging them through the airports. Exception would be an Alaskan cruise, there are a MUST for that.

It can be really hard keeping up with a good camera, protecting it like it is a newborn, keeping it charged, etc. I gave that up and just carry the disposable cameras. If something happens, you haven't lost anything but the pictures on it. You can write your name and cabin on it and people will return it when you leave it behind. the best part is that Carnival has great specials on developing at the end of the cruise and the pics turn out as good as any I could have taken with a good camera.

Well I have a DVD camcorder and believe me it worth the work
Bring it!!! You won’t regret
I bring it to all my cruises and after them, is good to remember how great they were by just looking the video,
A picture is good but a video is priceless…

Thanks. Looks like it is worth the hassle over all- I will be bringing it.

Almost done packing, will be leaving town tonight, and leaving on the cruise tomorrow!
