Where in the Gulf of Mexico? It's a pretty big area. Near New Orleans, the surface temperature 60s-80s, the ocean temperature upper 70s low 80s. Near Galveston, 70s-80s, ocean temperature low to mid 80s. Best wishes!

Be aware that it can be chilly the day you leave port and the day you return. Unless something odd is going on with the weather, the rest of the time should be fine for shorts.
