I was told 1 sixpack beer per person over 21 and wine was ok to bring on board they dis-allow hard spirits but I have taken on tequila and rum and other stuff, the little airplane bottles are great you can tuck them anywhere in your checked luggage My son took his cowboy boots we filled them with airplane bottles and it was funny because we came home with some of them did not use them all easy to dispose of also we even took a smoothie maker with us we had it in our cabin and no problem with steward extra 10.00 spot the day we boarded keeps his lips sealed, and he kept us in Ice
Bubble wrapping is great wrapped all the glass bottles in it and tucked among the clothing have flown 4 times with liquer in checked luggage bubble wrap and tape, works great and place them ziplock freezer bags for extra protection
Hey,
I've been on 2 Carnival cruises (Fantasy 2004 and Elation 2005). My bf brought 3 bottles of wine on the Elation, no one stopped us. He wants to bring more on our next one (Liberty 2006), but I think it's mine turn this time.
If they question you at embarkation, just tell them it's for a special occasion (birthday, congratulation party, etc.) Make something up.
Hope this helps!
I can't imagine any problem bringing a few bottles in your checked luggage. I usually bring at least a case of beer on 7 days. I have had only 1 complaint..my first female steward on Pride asked while moving the suitcases.."what do you have in here..encylopedias?..I said yes, and please keep them on ice!..No problem, and she was tipped well. But had to keep them in Koozies as they did not match the beers Carnival sold. Mind you this was for 3 people, and we bought buckets of beer too from the bartenders, so they overlooked and even gave us ice. If you are discreet is fine has been my experience.
I saw a guy at the airport when we landed in Birmingham that was on the same boat i was, and as we were waiting for our checked luggage to come by on the carousel i noticed a bag with white stuff all over it. It turns out that this guy had packed (not very well, i might add) a bottle of banana rum in his luggage and it sprung a leak.
Also, at 11.39 a pop for a Double Crown and Coke, i will be packing my own liquor next time.(in my carry on)
I have used water bottles to bring Malibu and Vodka. You can also bring a empty Listerine bottle and add rum or scotch to it (same color as Listerine). I have done this many times and it works.
As mentioned earlier, bubble wrap is great, pack it in your checked luggage.
