Carnival will have two ships sailing from NOLA within the next year. The Fantasy and the Carnival Triumph will be dedicated to NOLA cruises year-around. Read the press release here.

I'll be on the Fantasy Superbowl weekend. Looking forward to seeing how New Orleans is doing now.

Sweet... That gives me more choices of cruises within driving distance. Now all that we need is to have RCCL come back too.

The Sensation used to be based out of New Orleans. It had trouble with its engines after the FEMA charter (sitting idle for 6 months is not good for a ship), it is not fast enough for a 4/5 day cruise itinerary, so they swapped its itinerarys with the Fantsy 3/4 day Bahamas

Cruising from NOLA is a neat experience. You think that you are right on the gulf. You will actually sail for hours before you hit the open sea.

Wow somehow I dont think this is fair... New Orleans gets 2 Carnival Ships and we close to Charleston (which is another historical city) gets NONE..but twice a year from Carnival. I know Dwayne will agree with me on this.

It takes us to long to drive to New Orleans..but would love to go back and go on one of the ships. I would be anxious to see the changes on the Triumph, we were on the last sailing of her before she was refurbished back in 2005, and she was a great ship then, just a little worn around the edges.

Ok, now I'm confused. It says that the Triumph will be sailing full time from NOL, beginning in September of this year, but I'm scheduled on it in November out of Miami?
