Bother to carry on all your luggage?

or first cruise we give luggage to the people at the parking garage, they had a rider van that brought everyones bags to the boat. take your carry ons with your. make sure you got tags on them, our bags got to the room late. i was getting worried. but all was good.you carry your bags off the boat though

I was one of the people where our luggage was lost for almost 5 days, but as I said, we learn through trial and error. We now know to make sure that if our luggage is taken away like on/in another vehicle, we are with it too.

always make sure you carry with you, at least one or two sets of clothing, so if your luggage is lost or late, you can always change ahead of time in your room.

We've been lucky, in that we've never had luggage lost (by airline or cruise ship), except for one solitary golf putter one time. But we have pretty much packed "his" and "hers" bags on trips. What an excellent idea "cross packing" is -- if one bag is lost, neither of you is totally without a change of clothes.

I still can't believe this never occurred to us, and that in all these years we've never read that tip before!!!

I've been cross-packing since a friend of mine had her bag lost (by the airline) when going to Hawaii. Her hubby & daughter had all their clothes, but my friend had to depend on ABC stores and Walmart to replenish hers! Not a good start to her vacation.
