Does Carnival have any luggage limitations? My sister went through Princess Cruises last year and they were limited to 2 suite cases and 1 carry on bag per person.
You can take as many bags as you want on the cruise. But if you are flying your restriction will be with the airlines. Usually two checked bags of 50lbs each and one carry on.
Yup, as long as it fits in your cabin, Carnival does not restrict the amount of stuff you bring. (Except for liquor and firearms etc..)
Your only limits would be if you are flying and those limits are imposed by the airlines.
As far as recommending a garment or suitcase, I guess that depends on what you are putting in it. You could get more in a suitcase, but any formal clothes are going to get wrinkeled in the suitcase. you can always you the "community" iron in the laundry rooms on the newer Carnival ships or you can pay to have clothes pressed if you don't want to wait for us of the ron.

Both. Put your clothes in the suitcase and your hanging garmets in the garment bag. Once you get on the ship hang your clothes in the closet and put the garment bag into the suitcase and slid it under the bed. It will take a huge suitcase and as a matter of fact, the last cruise I had to pay the airline an extra $25 becasue of the steamer trunk my wife calls a suitcase.
But I feel your pain.. mine can't pack in less than 4 suitcases...
It really does not bother me and I tell her to bring as much as she wants and we have always found room for the suit cases. I can just imagine what the 12 day Hawaiian is going to bring. We will get it done somehow!
