Congrats too!
As Andrea said you will be awestruck when you board this ship. The atrium and the art throughout the ship are amazing. It is the classiest Carnival ship I have been on.
Congratulations! We are going on the Pride July 8th and I am absolutely boring everyone with my cruise talk. I can't stop since I have never been on a cruise and I am so excited. We are deciding what kinds of excursions to go on too. I have a 15 year old and a 7 year old. I have gotten a great deal of feedback on some excursions. Let me know if you find out about any good ones. My cruise ticker is not working. Am I doing something wrong?
I know you will love your trip the Pride is a great ship.
When we got our passports the guy wanted to see them. We had them so it was not a problem, not sure what would have happen if we did not have it.
Teachabcdee - You might have chosen the wrong format. Did you choose the one that said BB - you can't use the HTML one, I believe. Did you put it under your signature box in your personal profile?

Carnival Pride - September 30, 2007
Well hopefully SOMEONE will decide this sounds like a cruise they can't miss and will join us!!! :-)
I am so glad we booked this one instead of waiting for the original date of March 2008. I could not have waited that long! Carnival sent us some really great pictures via email of the ENTIRE ship. It looks wonderful.
I finally logged on to the Carnival site and started my search for the "perfect" shore excursion! DH says as long as he can find 1)a lounge chair 2)the perfect Margarita and 3) the casino...he doesn't need anything else.
I really would like to do a Dolphin adventure in one of the ports with my older son...and/or the BOB Underwater thing or the Snuba. The Sunset Horseback trip sounds like it would include my love of horses and my husbands love of the perfect Margarita! My older son races BMX bikes so the Bike Adventure might be something he and my DH would like to do. SOOOOO, if anyone can give me feedback on any of these - I would AGAIN appreciate it. The canopy adventure sounds fun...but pricey for the three of us. And there doesn't seem too much we can do with the three year old. Any ideas besides Sandcastles!!! I think the El Cid Resort sounds like what will do in Mazatlan. Cabo we will try and do a short excursion and our goal is to do lunch at the Cabo Cantina. It is the beginning of Sammy's Birthday Bash celebration during the time we are there...and my son just KNOWS he will be there just chillin at the Cantina!!!

MicheleT I was talking to a family member who went on this cruise for her honeymoon last year. She said that at Cabo when they got off the ship there were men that can take you on a glass bottom boat to the famous arc and where the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez meet. She said it was a lot of fun and not pricey like most of the shore excursions. I was also told that it is much cheaper at Mazatlan to take an open air taxi to the Golden Zone where there is great shopping and lots of resorts that allow you to use their ammenities for a great price. I think we are going to do this as well. We will be doing a big excursion in Puerto but I don't know yet because It has to include my 15 and 7 year old along with my husband and myself. I will let you know if I find something a family can enjoy.
We just got back from Pride yesterday and it was wonderful. Great service, beautiful ship, great food - you won't be disappointed. We had great weather - had never been to Mexican Riviera before. I would definitely go again!!
From all the pictures I have received and all the great feedback from people on the Carnival Pride the next 180 days can't just get here quick enough! My husband just rolls his eyes now when he sees me grab the laptop and my notebook! It's ok...he'll be happy when I have everything we need on the trip!!!
I am concerned over the balcony. Yes, I can't imagine not having one...but what about sleeping with the door open. Should I be concerned with the 3 year old. He's not a climber or anything...but is it safe? I have a picture in my head of him sneaking out there while we are sleeping...well you can all imagine the rest. Am I thinking to much into this!

Michele God gave you something very special when he gave you your precious little boy..it is called "mothers instinct"...don't ever go against it. That picture in your head is a sign its working. Leave the door shut at night and save that special time later in years when its just you and your husband.
You are going to have a wonderful time on your cruise and to say what everyone else says about the Pride it truly is the most beautiful ship I have ever been on and coming up with be #8.

Thanks Babydoll - that's what I was thinking...now I feel stubid even asking! I mean I know it's all common sense when you see it in person and such...but we have not cruised with kids before...and definitely not had a balcony! Back in 1992 on our honeymoon the only decision was which bar to drink at or how late we left the casino! A little different this time!
Maybe we'll have to duct tape him down one night so we can leave the door open!!!
OK....JUST KIDDING!
