Balconies

Are upper balconies worth the extra money? We are sailing on Glory in October and were wondering if it's worth booking from the Upper Deck or higher.

Upper deck is fine, only thing, it is right above the casino and many of the lounges, which could possibly be a little noisy during the night.

Thank you for the suggestion. When we booked, we mentioned our concerns with that deck and he bumped us up two floors.

We loved our balcony on the Conquest however we wish we were a floor lower. We were right under the pool area and heard the chairs scooting in the evening and early morning when they were being setup.
We also felt the vibrations from the band during one of the pool party nights.

A balcony though is difently worth the extra dollars. Enjoy breakfast room service when you can...lots of FUN!

Hi! We just took our first cruise and had a balcony on the Lido deck. I really think that was a great place to be. It was nice and quiet, but close to everything. Definitely worth the extra money to have that balcony!

Yes, yes, yes -balconies are worth the extra money. I would rather not cruise if I can't have a balcony. Just imagine watching the sun set or the sun rise from your own private balcony - It's just awesome !!!!

Yes to balconies! I had one for my last cruise and would not go again without one.

It's all what you get use to. Once you've had a balcony, it's hard to go back to not having one. My husband won't even consider anything else, luckily we have always been able to get a great rate and didn't feel like we were splurging to much for it.

While a balcony is a nice to have I don't view it as an essential, and I speak after trying a balcony on an Alaskan cruise. We prefer to take more cruises with our retirement income than fewer but with a balcony. The price difference can be huge. Our next cruise on Carnival Glory in a 4A grade inside cabin cost only 30% of the cost of a balcony cabin, so we can do three cruises for the price of one balcony. Three times the enjoyment! Now maybe if we won the Florida lottery we would have a balcony every time but until then we will happily settle for three cruises rather than one.
