Cruise documents question

I received my documents for myself and my roommie last week in the mail. WAHOOO! BUT the other couple we are going with did not receive theirs. When the girl called Carnival the agent said that the guy in her room already printed out the documents and they won't receive a book. Did she or the agent misunderstand what each other was saying or is it true that they won't get those books that they send? And if so, she was able to print out her docs also, can she just use those?

This is correct, Carnival has now gone to "choice" which means you either recieve the documents for the cabin by mail or you may print them from the site, but you can't get both. She just needs to make sure that her funpass is filled out and then she can print her documents also.
