I can see a first time cruise who did not want to cruise again not wanting to go. Other than that I think all will go again.
On the map that Dwayne provided it looks like the cruise is just reaching San Diego.
A News person on last nights new was surprised that there was not more raw footage of the ships. It does not surprise me. I would think there is a no fly zone around them. That is usually the case when military ships are around. Someone who get a little too close might be ask to leave by a couple F-18's from the USS Ronals Regan. Not real sure on that but I believe that would be the case.
it seems to me that the news media doesnt want to talk to a passenger that says carnvial did the best it could do under the circumstances, they want one that talks how carnival is bad, didnt take care of us, food was rotten, our life was in danger.
I don't know how I would handle the situation. It sounds like camping on the high seas. I like camping.I would rather be on a ship to no where than stuck in an airplane for 24 hours!
I just wonder why the coast guard could not drop meals like the military has (the ones that you add water to). They would at least have been hot. Or could a military ship have towed them in faster?
I am sure it has been a learning experience for all. I feel bad for the passengers but maybe the cruise lines will be better prepared for something like this? I am still looking forward to my first cruise in 3 weeks!
Yes, we will now see what the reports become. I bet we will hear everything from "it was no big deal" to "I thought I was going to die". But the news media will highlight those that express the worst opinions because that is what makes news.
I do feel for the cruisers, this trip was ruined and it was in no doubt not a fun time. BUT they were treated as best as the could under the circumstances and they are being offered more than fair compensation.
I keep hearing rumors of SPAM being flown in, but none of the actual passenger reports have mentioned it, so I think there has already be embellishment by the news teams going on. I wonder if Carnival will ever tell us what actually happened, how the fire started and what has been done to prevent it from happening again. If this was an airplane failure they would have to find root cause and implement changes to prevent a re-occurrence. It will be interesting to see what is said.
I am more than willing to take anyone's free cruise ticket who "will never cruise again"

I have a friend who was trapped in their hotel during their honeymoon by an early hurricane in an area that is not usually hit. They had no power or food for three days. So these things can happen on land as well.
