Just saw the news this morning and seems that the first of two Carnival cruise ships made its way to the Julia St. Pier yesterday.

The ships will be used to house relief and repair workers...not displaced residents as we were told last week (do you get the feeling that FEMA really does NOT have a clue?...)

This is a GREAT use for the ships (and one I suggested last week ) Someplace workers can go back to at night, clean up, have a decent meal (albeit probably NOT lobster & Filet ) Some rec facilities, weight rooms & the like for down time...yeah this makes sense.

Of course after living on one of these ships for 3 or so months I suspect these folks will NOT be candidates for cruise vacations
