I heard it's turned around in recent years..is that true? Does it compare to RC and Princess? Or is it still pretty casual?

Celebrity is a premium line. The service, food quality and entertainment are EXCELLENT.This is our favorite line.I have a question for those that have sailed both Norwegian lines and Celebrity as to which they like the best? The reasson I ask is that Celebrity is getting VERY PRICY.We can take several differnt line 's for almost half the price. Norwegian is much less expensive, is Celebrity worth all the extra money?

Thomas,
I don't think there is any comparison. Celebrity is a premium product and Norwegian is a much more mainstream. Little things like being greeted with a flute of champagne and escorted to your cabin on Celebrity are examples of services you won't find on NCL. In my opinion, if you really want to have a good dining experience on a Norwegian cruise you must plan to eat in the specialty restaurants (most of which cost extra). So you need to factor in the added expenses to the total cost of the NCL cruise. Between the two - I would definitely choose Celebrity.

Hi Thomas,

I think, it depends on the ship. We were on the Zenith, an older Celebrity ship, very good price, but we were not satisfied. Food on Brilliance and Jewel of the Seas and on Norwegian Sun were better. All the amenities were better, more space in the public areas, in the staterooms and in the dining room.
IŽd like to go on a newer ship from Celebrity to compare. But now I say, I prefer RCCL.

Marita

@ Nancy

hey only 12 days until you come to good old europe.
Best wishes, Marita

Nancy and Oppis
Thanks for the feedback. It is increasingly harder to get a Celebrity cruise for a week in the Carribean, The MILLIE will be the only one for the winter and spring that does a 7 Day and the base price for an outside cabin is $1100.00. I really prefer Celebrity but it is awful hard to justify such a large price difference.I can buy a lot of champaign and eat at a lot of specialty resturants for the difference. Is there really that big a difference?RCL is also less expensive, I know they are not a premium line but is there 3-400.00 difference? Thanks again.

Thomas,
You are right. With the redeployment of Celebrity's fleet - Caribbean cruising and Celebrity do not go togther. My suggestion would be to forego Celebrity for that destination, and as Marita suggests go with any of the newer RC vessels (my favorite are the Radiance class) or newer NCL ships (as long as you plan to dine at the alternative restaurants).

@Marita - thanks for the wishes, but I actually just returned from my Baltic cruise (absolutely fantastic BTW). So, I need to change my countdown clock.
