I am new to cruising. Taking my mom & aunt on the Summit westbound (Fl to LA)Panama Canal cruise in Dec 2007. Ports of call are grand cayman, cartagena, huatuico, acapulco, puerto vallarta and cabo san lucas. This will be a 2nd cruise for mom & me, 1st for my aunt. Hoping I have made good choice. Have a mid-ship starboard side balcony room on the panorama deck & upgraded to conceirge class. I am now looking at shore excursions.
My aunt has some limitations (she tires when standing or walking for long periods)so I am bringing a travel wheelchair for her.
In Grand Cayman I am wondering about the Nautilus Semi-sub, Underwater Observatory or the Glassbottom Boat. Navigating the narrow stairway on the Atlantis Sub would be difficult for my aunt.
Does anybody has some experience on these alternatives? What other excursions are a must do? Any other advice for this cruise will be greatly appreciated.
