They sure are making this complicated. I know this is OT, but worth a mention. CCL has their criteria set at under $70 a barrel for 25 consecutive trading days, and 5 days prior to the sail date. They put a link up so people could count the days. This is getting down right silly IMHO.
As of 8th December, RCCL and Celebrity have announced that passengers will either get a refund of the fuel surcharge or a cruise credit dependent on whether they have paid in full or not.
I just received an email that says Celebrity will cancel fuel surcharges for all cruises departing after January 1, 2009. If you have already paid in full, the charges will be refunded in the form of an on-board-credit. Carnival and Royal Caribbean have also just announced this change.
Hi Thomas White, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Indeed, they have cancelled them. I checked my bill on-line, and the fuel surcharge is gone. I'd better pay in full soon. We hope that you will continue to visit our board. Best wishes and once again, welcome aboard!
