We are looking at a concierge room (1165) on the Penthouse Deck on the Mercury for a Panama Canal/South America Cruise for 14 days in November. Can anyone tell us if this is worth the extra dollars and what are the perks you get??? Or pros/cons??? Thanks in advance to any of you pro cruisers. We always appreciate the advice we get on this site.

Here are the perks for Concierge Class on Mercury. My honest opinion, after being on a similar cabin on Century, is that the perks are all that differentiate the Concierge Class cabin from the Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah one deck down, so you need to determine how important these are to you. The cabins and balcony are the same size in each, unlike the M-class ships where the Concierge Class cabins are somewhat larger.

One difference is that you'll get an extra cruise credit in Captain's Club, which is the main perk we were after. Some of the other perks were very nice, some were just OK, and a couple of others didn't materialize (but those were very minor, IMO).

Thanks Lisa. I didn't know about the extra cruise credit and since that jumps us to 5 Celebrity cruises - it makes a difference. I hope this is still in effect!!!

You're welcome, diablo. That's exactly why we went for the concierge class stateroom, too. This pushed us to the Captain's Club Select level, as well as the reciprocal benefit on Royal Caribbean (Platinum).

Note that Celebrity doesn't give you the credits until after the cruise (which is pretty typical, I think, except maybe for HAL). You'll still have the Classic Level benefits...unless you're already Platinum or above on Royal Caribbean.
