Just got back from 11 day cruise on the Summit. This was our 3rd cruise and the first on Celebrety Line.I could not have been any better. Not many children but otherwise passengers of all ages and from differnt countries. The food was sooooo good. They have a place were you can get just baked crousants,(better than the onse in the dining room) I would pick up some on the way into the dining room in the mornings.
Let me know if you have any questions.Glad to help.
When are you going?

Cathy, let me know when you are cruising,I have a lot of good hints, some I had picked up from Cruiseaddicts.com and they came in real handy.I can also tell you about the differnt islands we went to.I took an iron but it was a waste because they warn you not to use it,it might blow the fuse. I rolled all my clothes when I packed and did not need to iron anything. There are 3 formals.I had one dress and 1 long black skirt and to dressy tops. There were quite a few beautiful formal on our cruise.

Hi,
We are going to the Eastern Caribbean this Sunday(11/9/)and I am real excited! This will be my second cruise, however, my first one was about 18 years ago with Carnival. My husband does not like cruises based on that cruise with Carnival...this is an anniversary gift from my son. My husband is giving me a hard time about the formal and semi-formal dress...he refuses to bring a sport jacket, let alone a suit. We live in Florida and most of the time we are casually dressed. Also, would like to know the meaning of the category? We are on the continental deck category 07. Also on a printout with our reservation number it says Guaranteed Oceanview...but when I tried to view our stateroom number online it looks like an inside room. Any suggestions from anyone about this, and also about dress and category meaning. Much appreciated insight about any of this...thanks
Mary Ann

RE: dress code. If hubby doesn't want to dress up, so be it. Formal nights do call for a suit or tux, but you have several options: you can eat in the buffet area that night, or you can go to your regular table in whatever clothes you are taking (remember, shorts are not allowed in the dining room for dinner, though). It could be your tablemates won't mind in the slightest! (This happened to us on a 3-night Carnival cruise a few years ago - we forgot his tie, in this case - and we ate at the buffet, which was fine. The next day our tablemates all asked "Where were you? We missed you!" When we explained what happened, several of them said they had been wearing polo shirts or something else equally casual.

Don\'t sweat the small things. Your husband may fine he will enjoy the cruise a lot better than he remembers - especially if you are both able to relax and just go with the flow. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

I sailed to Alaska on the Summit last June. Had a great time. Don't miss the pasta bar (we didn't discover it until our last day). The food was good, accomodations were fine. I'd go again in a heartbeat.
