Just found out that our cruise is cancelled for 12/10. Has anyone had that experience before and what will our refund be. They told us we will be refunded, but I do not know if this will be a hassle or if I will be given the Sky Suite and the great deal that I found for this cruise. So Disappointed! Thanks!

it's probably best they cancelled your cruise...I just posted cruisers beware today, read this and you will be glad. We had a horrible time on the Milennium. If you cruise was cancelled you should not have problems getting your money back...hopefully have better luck than us.

We spent 2 weks on tme Millennium In January this year. The cruise and service were absolutely outstanding as they were on 2 previous celebrity cruises on the Infinity and the galaxy. In fact, we will be on the 12-17 sailing with my parents, daughter, her hubby and 2 kids.I am not a novice cruiser with 9 other cruises under my belt. Holland America - 2, Princess- 2, Royal Carribean -1, NCL -2, Carnival-2. Celebrity was by far the best. I would gues that Cruisers beware had a problem, didn't like how it was resolved, so he had an attitude for the rest of the cruise so no crew wanted to deal with them. We're also booked on the Constellation on 9-15/07. No cruise is absolutely perfect, especially after experiencing many others because one can see how lines do things differently, but Celebrity is consistently the best of the 6. One downside on celebrity, The dinner knives are not very shharp. I plan on bringing my own aboard.

Hi there!

My wife & I are really excited about this cruise to Easter Caribbean (Dec. 10), Cruise terminal at Fort Lauderdale.

We arrived on time (3 hrs. before) departure &
were informed - cruise cancelled. We were
devastated. You booked in advance, super ready & suddenly your happy thoughts went downhill.

We flew all the way from San Diego to Fort Lauderdale just to have this cruise.

Hope we can refund all our expenses with NO hassle or red tape with the Celebrity Management. We are so upset.

NOTE: Other passengers at the cruise terminal were NOT informed in advance about this cancellation of Dec. 10 cruise with Millennium.

Better think twice if you want to book with
Celebrity. Friends of mine like very much Holland America & Princess Cruise (cheers to them!)

SDCruiser,
Please do not take this personally but you flew across country and did not check with travel agent or cruise line on the web about the cruise? On this web site they have talked about it for 3 weeks, I only notice because we are booked to go on the Millenium in the summer. That aside I can not imagine the dissapointment you guys are going through. I do not know much about the cruise industry but I agree they should have sent you notice in writing. I hope you can get your flight money back. Did you book your flights through Celebrity? Let us know how you make out, again I feel bad for you guys, a simiular thing happened on a vacation to me with flights and missing three days of Vaca and no $$ back.

Hello there,

Thank you for your response. Nothing personal here.

This cruise-chat is a website I never heard of.
I believe it is not as big as "Google" or
Yahoo.

More famous sites than this "Cruise-Chat" & really I won't waste my time surfing 24 hrs a day on this one.

It is STILL the main responsibility of Celebrity to inform ALL passengers based on their manifesto for this cancellation. It's their job!!!

Our veteran agent was also NOT aware of this
cancellation. I won't blame her.

Take care & God speed.

SD Cruiser,
First of all, I am very sorry that your cruise was canceled as I know how disappointing that can be! However, with all due respect to your veteren agent, on Nov. 16, Celebrity did send out a notice to all agents who had guests sailing on the canceled cruise. As a TA, I act as an agent for the cruise line and when I am notified of a cancelation such as this, I do believe it is MY responsibility to alert my client. The message (which I have included, was also posted on their website):
< Guests booked on the cancelled sailing will receive a full refund and a free Celebrity cruise of equal value from North America of up to seven nights, departing on or before December 31, 2007, excluding holiday and Celebrity Xpedition sailings. Travel agents will receive full commissions for the cancelled sailing, plus a $50 rebooking fee per stateroom when their clients reschedule their cruise.
"I sincerely apologize to our guests for the disruption this cancelled cruise will cause them," said Dan Hanrahan, president of Celebrity Cruises. "We will do everything we can to assist them onboard other sailings. Millennium continues to operate safely, however, this is a matter that can only be addressed through repairs in a drydock."
Celebrity has established a special help desk to assist guests and travel agents with rebooking, air transportation, land tours and other issues. That toll-free number is 1-888-281-9343.>>

BTW, cruise-chat is just a discussion forum - NOT a search engine like Yahoo and Google.

Nancy

@cruisers beware

U seem to be over all a "negative-thinker". But please do not spoil everybody 'round here with your subjective, personal problems. You lost your luggage cause you didn't take care of it - you don't like the Celebrity food - Best way to get rid of your nightmares is a therapy.

Keep on cruisin'

Is there any Christmas joy out there?? Everyone has a right to express their opinions, and voice their issues with any cruiseline. We don't have to agree with them, but they DO have the right to express them.
As long as we choose to travel, there will always be problems somewhere!!

The purpose of my posting to BobSabresFan was to share MY experience about my cruise with him. Whether you liked my answer or not is really not of your concern. I feel that unless if you've personally gone through having your personal things stolen then you can fully empathize with my experience. Yes I was mad but have now moved on. It just was very disappointing spending over $25,000 on our honeymoon which we looked forward to for months turn out as it did. Like I said, it's water under the bridge and I wanted SabreFan not to feel bad that he's missed this ship. SabreFan I hope you have a better vacation on the other cruise you booked.
Have a great holiday. p.s. I would still advise you lock your lugguage and tape it too before leaving it outside before disembarkation. If customs has to cut it to look inside they will have to re-tape it with some sort of government labeled tape.
Cheers!!
