Anyone going on the wine cruise out of San Francisco on April 27th? This will be my first cruise on a "big" ship. I have been on a Windjammer cruise. 3 friends and I are looking forward to a great time. We have a couple of winery tours scheduled. I know this sounds corny, but can you throw streamers off the ship when it pulls away from the dock? (you can tell I am a little excited!)
Cathie welcome to cruise-chat. Congratulations on your upcoming cruise. I did look into that cruise but as you can see on my signature I have quite a few scheduled this year, so I cant make that one. I would love to go on it though.
As far as throwing streamers off the ship as it leaves port, I havent seen that done, I guess it would fall into the littering of the ocean. We always bring bottles of bubbles with us, lots of fun to blow those as we leave port, looks great and doesnt leave the mess.

Were you watching Love Boat re-runs? The EPA has probably raised it's collective back leg on your fun. Sorry, seems like a fun thing to do!
Chef Ken, in the immortal words of Slim Pickens in "Blazing Saddles," you talk (write) prettier than a $10...I'll bet you put out a great meal, Master Chef.
I bet the EPA would be equally quick to raise their back leg on the bubbles, too...detergent in the ocean?
Aw, heck. Guess we will have to go to our rooms and drink the bubbly and throw our streamers. I didn't watch the Love Boat, but did watch all the old 30's and 40's movies and always loved the ship leaving the dock scenes. My dream is to leave New York harbor and sail to England.
