I was just doing some long-range looking for 2011 and became interested in Mercury's 9-day Charleston, Key West, Bahamas cruise out of Baltimore.

I would like to consider a Sky Suite, and see that they are located on two separate decks on this ship - Penthouse Deck and Sky Deck.

Ths staterooms on the Sky deck seems to be very isolated from the rest of the staterooms (in fact there are no staterooms on the deck below it).

Is there any advantage / disadvantage in having a suite on the Sky deck?

The balconies on the Sky deck are quite a bit larger.

Thanks, Cruise Fanatic.

I did see that on the deck plans, but was not sure if I could trust the proportions on the drawings.

Looks like another advantage of the Sky Deck is the convenience of being able to roll out of bed in the morning, walk a few steps to the jogging track, do a half lap, and be right at the Sky Bar for a morning bloody mary!
