Finally a new and exciting Captain's Club, I have been asking for a year !! Here is what they announced:

For Classic members (1-4 tier credits): Access to the loyalty desk and loyalty host; a premium onboard discount booklet; access to the new Captain's Club Celebration event; a complimentary custom air request; pre-cruise specialty restaurant reservations; member reunion cruises; one-category upgrades (when available); and an online newsletter

For Select members (5-9 tier credits): All of the benefits of Classic membership, plus priority embarkation, a complimentary wine seminar, priority status to shore excursion waitlist, an invitation to the senior officers' cocktail party, 25% off any Internet package, complimentary pressing of two clothing items, and discounted laundry on cruises of 12 nights or more.

For Elite members (10 or more tier credits): All of the benefits of Select membership, plus a private shipboard departure lounge with continental breakfast, priority tender service, priority waitlist for dining room seating, elegant tea service, complimentary use of Thalassotherapy pool use on Celebrity Mercury, complimentary access to the Persian Garden (port days only), access to the new Captain's Club Lounge at Michael's Club, 90 free Internet minutes, one free item of dry cleaning, a complimentary bag of laundry (wash, dry, fold) and additional discounted laundry on cruises of 12 nights or more.

Love the access to the Lounge from 4 to 6 at Michael's Club nice ! They made me happy right when I really wanted to try a Princess Cruise, boy the choices are so hard !!

As a Diamond member of RCCL, I assume there is a reciprocal agreement between CCL & RCCL? I've heard really good things about CCL, so any suggestions for Nov. 2010?

Yes, you get equal recognition in Celebrity's Captain's Club. When I made RCI Diamond I was immediately upgraded to Captain's Club Elite level. I already was a Captain's Club member so I don't know the process for C&A members who aren't CC members. I assume they just activate a membership for you once you book a Celebrity cruise.

I am quite fond of Celebrity. It is a more serene cruise than RCI offers. You need to look at one of the Solstice class ships.

Why would one "need" to try Princess? I have sailed on them 27 times and no more. As the Captained explained to me, since Carnival took them over all that matters is the "bottom line", not service, etc.

The sad thing for baby boomers like myself is that I remember what cruising used to be.Depending on what category your are in on the Soltice, you will have a great cruise experience. However the Italian Steak House did not ive up to it's reputation.

Out of 87 cruises, the best was on Seaourn.

Imagine that. Seabourn is owned by Carnival. By your above comment concerning Princess, I think you are confusing Carnival Cruise Line and Carnival Corp and Plc. Princess and Seabourn both are owned by Carnival Corp and Plc.

I've never sailed on a Princess ship, but I can't imagine it would any Princess ship could match up to Celebrity's Solstice class ships. Then again, I've never sailed on one of those either. As a Diamond Plus member I should get all the perks if I ever sail on a Celebrity ship. I'm still considering a Princess cruise in the far off future. My last cruise on the Radiance was a good reminder why I keep sailing on Royal Caribbean.
