Has anyone been in cabin C1-9117 CC as I wondered hat the cabin was like in relation to noise from engines etc. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

Desi,
You will not have a problem C1 is a prime location mid-ship. You will love your cabin. The Century is my favorite ship in the Celebrity line and I vote it over the Solstice too! http://bestsmileys.com/thumbs/7.gif
The size is very nice. Enjoy your cruise, tell us where you are going.

Have booked shore excursions for some ports but wondered if there was a cost to get to the ports by tender (there and back)from the ship http://bestsmileys.com/thumbs/7.gif if you are not on an excursion and want to go off on your own?

Thanks Janfred - flying into Barcelona then sail Nice, FLorence/Pisa, Rome, Dubrovnik, Venice, Split, Naples - booked excursion when in Venice and just looking for excursion to Florence really want to see David in Florence but torn as also want to see Leaning tower in Pisa but the excursions look at bit heavy (3.5 miles walking in the heat of an August day WOW!!) Looking forward to experience as 1st time on a cruise http://bestsmileys.com/waving/7.gif

Hi desi. We did the 3+ mile walking tour in Florence a couple of months ago through an excursion offered by another cruise line. Yes...depending on where you are from (we're from New England), it may be a difficult walk in August. If you just want to see David, one option is to take the ship's transportation-only excursion to Florence or go by train, and visit Galleria dell'Accademia on your own. You can then see other parts of town at your own pace.

For more on train travel in Italy, should you opt to do so, we have a great thread located here.

By the way, we were on Century in northern Europe a few years ago, shortly after her refurbishment, and loved the ship. Each year when we plan the next summer's cruise, the first thing we do is see where she'll be cruising. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

No, the ship doesn't charge if you have to tender to shore. In other ports where you don't tender there may be a small surcharge to go by bus into the city center.
