My wife and I have booked a cruise on the Century on Janruary 13 2007. My question is about non-formal nights. How out of place would I be in dress paints and a pollo shirt? I'm a simple blue colar guy. In fact I only own one suite and I need it for formal night
You might consider getting a sport coat (like a blue blazer) - I usually wear one with either khaki or grey dockers and a polo shirt. That will cover the "semi-formal" atmosphere where most men (except Dave ) are wearing some kind of jacket. In fact, in many places its still fashionable to wear a turtle neck with a blazer in lieu of jacket and tie.
The dark blazer can also be used with slacks of a very similar color in place of a suit. We did that on our first cruise, as my hubby didn't own a suit at the time.
I also brought one piece of suit for the formal nights, 3 ties and a couple of dress shirts. For semi formal, i just wore collared shirt euther long sleeved or short and mixed matched with dark slacks or khaki pants, casual nights i wore slacks and polo shirt. Have a great cruise..
