Celebrity-Mexico from San Diego Oct 21st

Just booked on the above cruise. We would like to spend 2 nights in San Diego prior to the cruise and take a look at what we understand is a great city. Can anyone recommend a "mid priced" hotel(on a pension you know!!), convenient for attractions- we like to walk so "walking distance to most things would be great".

I just returned from a cruise that boarded passengers in San Diego and number of them stayed at the Holiday Inn right across from the port. The location is perfect and everyone I spoke with was quite pleased with the accommodations. I am not sure of the cost, however.

My husband and I are booked on the Mercury the following week - Oct. 31 - 11 days to the Mexican Riviera from San Diego. We just booked a hotel - just about 1/2 hr. ago! - for 2 nights prior. I read on a review about the Days Inn Harbor View - which is right across the street from the cruise terminal. The AAA rate for a King room was about $80 - now, that's a bargain! Check it out!
