Galaxy -- In Need of Refurbishment?

Hi. I'm planning to book the 11/20/06 Eastern Med sailing of the Galaxy. I've read such widely different opinions about the condition of this shi, its cabins & public areas. Will I disappointed booking a 10+ year old ship? What type cabin would you recommed for that sailing, outside, balcony or suite? Also, will the Med be rough at that time of the year? I expect temperatures to be in the 50s & 60s. Thank you for your advice!
