New ship coming to Bayonne, NJ

Good news for those in the New York area. Celebrity will be putting the brand new Celebrity Silhouette in Bayonne, NJ next year. On October 22, 2011 the Silhouette will do a Transatlantic from Rome to Bayonne. It will start 12nt cruises from Bayonne on November 6, 2011. The longer cruises were chosen over shorter ones due to several factors such as port availability, distance, fuel consumption, to name a few. This is exciting news for those in that area to have a brand new ship!

Wow, this is awesome news, since we almost always leave out of NJ or NY because I hate to fly and we live in Michigan. Just to clarify, though, is the Rome to NYC transatlantic the norm (the 12 nighters) or is it just one-time repositioning? If it's repositioning, where are the 12-nighters going? Thanks so much for the info! We've been dying to try Celebrity...

Cruises but for the most part these 2 itinaries are what we will see...very nice too. You will enjoy Celebrity..of course I am a very big Fan

Great itineraries! Would love to see St. Croix or St. Lucia... I'd be scared to see the price on a cruise that long on Celebrity, though.
