After reading the post about the Silhoutte, I am more excited then ever to go on vacation. November 2011 will take forever to get here!

Frankly I never understood the Corning glass blowing deal. To me it made as much sense as having a demonstration area for rebuilding automobile engines. Personally the latter would interest me more than a guy making a bottle, but both are silly for a cruise ship.

Although Celebrity says the Corning deal will remain on the first three ships in the class, it is just a matter of time before they are removed and the Lawn Grill installed. Bottom line - the grill is a revenue center and the glass blowing isn't.

When I was on Allure last week, I went to a Q&A with the Captain and a couple of other ship's personnel, and a senior VP from Miami. She was saying that some of Royal Caribbean's ships will be retrofitted with some of the "most popular" features of the Oasis class. Just about all of the things she mentioned were stores or extra-charge restaurants, like Starbucks and the Britto store.
